INGREDIENTS:
basmathi rice - 2 cups
vegetable oil - 3 tsps
mint leaves - 1 bunch
cilantro - 1 bunch
water - 4 cups
salt - to taste
Green chillies - 12
Chicken - 900 grms
Onion - 4(Chopped)
tomato - 2(chopped)
Cardamom - 2
cloves - 6
Star anise - 1
Big cardamom - 1
Bay leaves - 4
Cinnamon - 2
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tsp
DIRECTIONS:
Soak rice for 30 mins and drain water away.(for easy cooking).
In a pressure pan heat oil.Add cardamom,cloves,star anise,bay leaves,big cardamom,cinnamon,onions and ginger garlic paste.Saute till onions turn golden brown.
Add tomatoes and cook till the oil separates and tomatoes blend in the masala.
Add chicken and cook till it turns soft and oil separates.May take 15-20 mins.
Add 1 tsp of salt to chicken while cooking.
In a mixer blend mint,cilantro and green chillies together by adding 1/2 cup water.
Add this to chicken and cook for 5-8 mins.
Add 3 1/2 cups water and required amount of salt to this mixture and bring it to boil.
Add soaked rice.Keep lid and cook till the rice is done.
