Chicken Pulao

Ingredients:

Basmathi rice - 2 cups
Chicken pieces - 1/2 kg
Cashew nuts - 100 grms
Onion - 1 cup(chopped)
Onion paste - 1 cup
Green chilli - 6
Chilli powder - 2 tsps
Ghee - 250 ml
Cloves - 10
Poppy seeds - 1 tsp
Nutmeg - small piece
Coriander seeds - 2 tsps
Cardamom - 10
Bay leaves - 3
Ginger - small piece
Garlic pods - 6
Salt - to taste
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Directions:

Take cloves,poppy seeds,nutmeg,coriander seeds,ginger and garlic pods into a bowl and prepare a fine paste.
Apply it to chicken pieces and keep aside for marination.
Fry cashew in little ghee and keep aside.
Put cooker on the stove,heat ghee.
Add onions and onion paste and fry till they turn brown.
Add bay leaves,green chillies,turmeric powder and fry.
Add washed basmathi rice and stir fry for 5 mins.
Now add marinated chicken pieces and fry  until oil seperates.
Add fried cashew nuts,chilli powder and 4 cups of water.Mix well and place the lid and weight on the cooker.
Cook for about 20 mins.
